Our Regional Board

The Western Regional YMCA is guided by a dedicated team of volunteers and professional staff who ensure that our programmes and services reflect our mission and values. As part of the wider Ghana YMCA movement, we follow a leadership framework that ensures accountability and representation across all levels.

At the national level, the National Council is the highest decision‑making body and includes representatives from all constituencies of the Association; it decides and supervises the strategic direction and growth of the YMCA【841304306272955†L61-L69】. The National Board, made up of officers of the National Council and senior staff, executes the Council’s vision and oversees day‑to‑day management【841304306272955†L67-L70】. Each region also has a Regional Council, which oversees activities within the administrative region and comprises representatives of local branches【841304306272955†L72-L76】. A Regional Board, including elected officers and local board chairpersons, provides supervisory authority when the council is not in session and supports the work of the Regional Directorate, led by a Regional Director who serves as the chief executive of the region【841304306272955†L81-L90】. In each community, Local Boards of 5‐9 respected members advise branches and are elected by members【841304306272955†L93-L99】.

This structured leadership ensures that the Western Regional YMCA remains responsive to community needs while contributing to the national and global YMCA movement. We invite you to get to know our leaders, share your ideas and participate in guiding the future of our YMCA.
